A branch of ailing fashion chain Peacocks in Whitchurch is closing with the loss of about 15 jobs.
The retailer’s Market Drayton branch is also set to close, with the loss of about 10 jobs.
It comes as part of a nationwide cull which has cost 3,000 jobs. Branches elsewhere in Shropshire have been axed including those in Telford and Oswestry.
But two branches in Shrewsbury have survived the axe.
Administrators yesterday struck a deal with Edinburgh Woollen Mill to save 388 shops and 6,000 jobs. But 224 stores have closed, leading to 3,100 redundancies.
