Four North Shropshire Wheelers made the trip to Holmes Chapel to ride in the Manchester Vets 30-mile time trial – with Jim Gresty starring.
Although more accustomed to longer distances, Gresty proved his versatility by claiming a top five finish with an excellent time of 1.10.56.
Phil Guy was happy with his efforts in recording a time of 1.15.17.
The ladies’ race was dominated by two Norths riders with Rebecca Leaper claiming first place in 1.19.53, closely followed by Christine Roberts in 1.22.22.
Gresty’s good form continued in the Shropshire 100-mile time trial championship.
Faced with blustery conditions on the Prees-Tern Hill-Shawbirch course, he produced another top five finish with a superb time of 4.15.25, comfortably finishing first vet on standard.
