Former England star Devon Malcolm, who played 40 Test matches in the 1990s, will headline a special Twenty20 match at Wem Cricket Club next month.
The Devon Malcolm XI will take on a Wem side on Sunday, June 13 (2pm) to launch the club’s campaign to raise £10,000 for the refurbishment of the Kynaston Ground clubhouse.

Broadcaster Sybil Ruscoe, from Wem, will be a hosting a question and answer session with Malcolm in the clubhouse after the match.
“We really want to make this a great day out for all the family,” said club spokesman Will Savage.
“We are very grateful that Devon is giving his time to come and help us kick off our fundraising. We hope that local people will come along and support us.
“We are offering up places for people to play in either of the teams in return for a sponsorship fee of £25.
“This is a great opportunity to play alongside one of England’s cricketing legends.”
Club captain and former Shropshire skipper Bryan Jones will captain the Wem team.
