Jazzing it up twice over for charity

Ellesmere will be swinging to a double dose of jazz music this spring with a festival of live music to raise money for charity.

The event has been organised by the Party in the Park committee in aid of Save the Children, which was founded by Ellesmere woman Eglantyne Jebb.

Both evenings of music will be held at the town hall from 7.30pm to 10pm and will feature musicians Jazz Legend.

The first evening – The Story of Jazz and Swing – will be held on February 27, while the second half of the event, called Fascinating Rhythms, will take place on March 27.

Zoe Day, who is helping to organise the event, said: “This is a live musical show, staged over two evenings, which includes footage of original artists and over 40 colour slides, with the musicians telling the musical story of the development of popular music.”

Tickets are available at £15 per show or £25 for both shows. Call 01948 710540 for details or to book tickets.
