Couples in Whitchurch are being offered a cut price Valentine’s deal and the chance to help a town church where many of them tied the knot.
The Dodington Lodge Hotel will be hosting a Valentine’s party on Saturday, February 14, and this year for the first time they will be holding the event in aid of the Fabric Fund at St Alkmund’s Parish Church. The hotel usually charges around £40 for a couple but this year they will be charging £12.50 per person and donating £5 from each ticket to the fabric fund.
Jason Wainwright, hotel manager, said: “In these difficult financial times people still want to celebrate important events like Valentine’s Day but without breaking the bank. Also, St Alkmund’s is arguably the most important building in the landscape of the town.”
