A charity is helping cash-strapped brides beat the credit crunch by selling wedding dresses from its shop in Ellesmere.
Relate, the relationship charity, has a selection of wedding, prom and cocktail dresses from only £100 which they are hoping will be of benefit during the current financial crisis.
Charity bosses say that business at the Ellesmere branch, which has been open since September, is going well although the number of donations has fallen. The slump in generosity is being blamed on people having to tighten their purse strings and buy fewer new clothes meaning they hold on to their old clothes for longer rather than giving them to charity.
Dave Price, retail development supervisor, said: “The wedding dresses have just come in and we hope they will be popular during the cash crisis.”
