The paper that gets results

A man whose petition over bus service cancellations was featured in the North Shropshire Chronicle says he is about to hit 2,000 signatures.

Mr Anthony Rollins, from Whitchurch, who thought he would get 500 signatures, said: “People have come up to me and said ‘You were in the Chronicle, we saw what Owen Paterson said about you, we’ll sign the petition.’ I had to take extra sheets of paper out with me for people to sign.”

He is planning to send copies next week to both Cheshire County Council, who are responsible for the route, and Shropshire County Council, who were asked to subsidise the Whitchurch to Chester route.
