Villagers are up in arms after being given early morning wake up calls by ‘beeping’ vehicles reversing up their road.
Hadnall parish council officials said they had received numerous complaints about vehicles backing up a residential street at 6.15 in the morning after finding they were unable to turn round.
Galliers Homes Ltd received planning permission last year for 30 homes in the village and the company’s vehicles now access the site via Chapel Lane.
But this road has nowhere for turning round so vehicles have to beep their way back up the road from the early hours in order to leave the site.
Roy Tonge, Hadnall parish clerk, said: “We have heard the development site has caused quite a bit of disquiet. They have to reverse over 100 yards with their beepers going.”
Dewi Davies, district and parish councillor for Hadnall, said he had also received complaints.
He added that the parish council were in talks with the Galliers, who are building the homes, to alter the times of day the vehicles use the route.
Galliers Homes Ltd said they did not want to comment.
