Green drinks off to flying start

An environmental drinks session got off to a flying start at a Shrewsbury pub.

The first ‘Green Drinks’ session was held at the Armoury and organisers say that the event was a big success drawing a group of more than 25 people from all over the county.

People attended from all kinds of environmental organisations, ranging from wildlife conservation, to renewable energy installers, business recycling services and ethical financial advisories. The sessions have been started in Shropshire to help people working in the environmental field to network and make useful contacts to help bolster the work the county is doing for a wide range of environmental issues.

Sarah Meredith, from Marches Energy Agency which hosted the event, said: “It was wonderful to meet so many interesting people and to put faces to names. I’m looking forward to next month’s gathering and to potentially working alongside some of the new contacts I’ve made.”

Future ‘Green Drinks’ will be held on the first Wednesday of every month at the Armoury pub, Shrewsbury, starting at 8pm.

Anyone who wishes to receive a monthly email reminder should contact Nancy Davies at Marches Energy Agency at nancy@mea.org.uk or on 01743 246007.
