Artists in Hadnall have created their own calendar featuring inspirational paintings and watercolours.
The Hadnall Friday Art Group have collected their work together to create a calendar for 2008.
The group, which meets at the village hall, composed the calendar together and it was then produced by a member of the group.
Bill Cruickshank, chairman of the group, said: “We made the calendars as a group, they cost £2.50 and we are selling them between ourselves. We have also given some away. It’s a calendar of the group’s paintings.”
The informal group was originally set up as a course to help those suffering with Parkinson’s disease.
Socialise
At the end of the course Mr Cruickshank decided to carry on and hired Hadnall Village Hall for the weekly meetings. It is now seen as a way for people to socialise and includes both those with and without Parkinson’s.
Mr Cruickshank said: “The group started off as a therapy course for people with Parkinson’s disease and when the course finished I volunteered to carry it on and the group went from there.
“We meet every Friday at Hadnall Village Hall and it has a general mix of people, some who suffer from Parkinson’s and some who don’t. People with Parkinson’s can often feel isolated so this is a way for people to socialise.
The group have artists and teachers who give talks, and also go on trips to local art galleries.
